D1 East Power Rankings – V2
D1 East
8 games in, 22 to go. The cream is rising to the top and for the bottom teams, this season could already be slipping away. Can anyone come up from the bottom and find their way into the top 8 before it’s too late?
1.Envious
The only undefeated team. 26 goals scored to only 4 against, both best in the entire division. They were in first last week and somehow have found another gear. It remains to be seen if this team can find yet another level and get even better.
2.Viva Futbol
Really strong week from Viva, finding their way up to 3rd in the table. They are performing well in every metric and beating strong teams game in and game out. It will be interesting to see if they can make a push to the top two spots on the table.
3.Ackerman FC
While not tied for first anymore, Ackerman are still putting together a great start to the season with 1 loss in 8. That’s the kind of form that will keep you near the top of the table with a very favorable matchup come playoff time.
4.Holicz
Still a hard team to rank. Their defense is still absolutely exceptional, conceding only 4 goals. However, their attack has been dismal, only scoring 10 which is about pace with a mid-table team. This pace isn’t sustainable, but I absolutely expect them to figure it out this week.
5.CSD Agua Viva
Not a lot of movement from CSD Agua Viva this week, and I don’t think they will be too mad about it. Scoring twice as much as they are conceding, this team is getting results and could be one to look out for come playoff time.
6.Malditos Genios
A huge boost for Malditos Genios who find themselves 9th in the table on goal difference. 18 goals is second best in the table, but 17 conceded is 4th worst. They gained points, and really need to beat up some of the lesser teams to pump their goal differential up.
7.NoHardFeelings
Very poor week from NoHardFeelings, going from 3rd to 6th in the table. Their attack is still excellent, but their defense faltered and are conceding too many goals for it to be sustainable long-term. Expect this team to rebound this week.
8.Buona Notte
Giving Buona Notte the nod over Santa Muerte based on their attacking prowess. This was an exceptional defensive team last year but seeing shades of last year’s LA United team in Buona Notte. Can their defense figure it out and pair well with their attack?
9.Santa Muerte
Better defensively than Buona Notte but with 7 goals less conceded. While they are strong defensively, their attack isn’t firing on all cylinders. It’s very surprising based on the attacking talent this team has.
10.San Sharti CF
Very strong week from San Sharti going from near-bottom all the way to 10th, 2 points from the playoffs. Their defense is still a work in progress, but they made serious improvement on their goal differential and could be finding their footing.
11.Mythic
A team that’s not exactly good enough on either side of the pitch. 9 goals conceded is about middle of the road, but 8 goals scored is still poor. This team could go either way and this week is huge for them.
12.LA United
Still tough to put this team too low with only a -4 goal differential. They’re keeping games close but not closing out. This team can be good on paper all they want but need to get results asap.
13.Beangers
Another team that looks better on paper than their ranking, Beangers are better than 4 points level. A good week or two could see them out of the relegation zone.
14.No Name XI
Somehow on 7 points with a -11 goal differential, I have no idea how they are getting these results.
15.Vikings
-16 goal differential is 2nd worst in the division. As such, Vikings will sit 2nd to last on the power ranking.
16.DANZ FC
DANZ had a huge opportunity to make strides up the table last week. They didn’t capitalize on any of it and still sit on 1 point with only 3 goals scored. This is definitely the biggest disappointment in D1 so far.
