VCL D1 North Power Rankings – V1

VCL North Conference

After 6 games, the North Division of VCL D1 remains tighter than ever with spots 5 through 9 only having a difference of 3 points between them. One good week could mean you could rise all the way to the top 3 or 4, while a bad week could see you go as low as 10th. What does this mean for the power rankings?

 

1.No Hard Feelings

Probably the most unquestioned choice here. Top of the table, most goals scored, fewest conceded goals, only 1 loss. No Hard Feelings couldn’t be happier to have this kind of start to the season.

2.Viva Futbol

While down in 3rd, Viva Futbol have been playing well with only 1 loss and a +7 goal differential. While they could stand from fewer draws, the season is still early and they will find their form soon.

3.Joga Bonito

On one hand, this team is 2nd in the table with 13 points and only one loss. However, with 4 wins and a draw, a +2 Goal Differential is dismal and may not be sustainable long term. We’ll see how next week pans out for them.

4.Buona Notte

Tied with Viva on 11 points, Buona Notte have a strong attack but need to sharpen up defensively if they are to make a push up the table.

5.Border Patrol

Almost perfectly balanced. 3 wins, 3 losses and a +1 goal differential sees them holding 5th on a tiebreaker. This is a huge week coming up for the team to prove how good they truly are.

6.Vikings MX

While in 7th, this team also holds a positive goal differential and has two draws, tied with Viva and Buona Notte for most in the division. They can play teams close but need to pull out some wins to distance themselves in the playoff race.

7.Nemesis XI

Hard done to be under .500 and have a 0 goal differential. This division is tough and they haven’t had an easy go of it so far. Expect Nemesis to climb the rankings after next week.

8.Lacritas

The biggest loser of the power rankings, Lacritas have 3 wins, 3 losses and a -3 goal differential with only 7 goals scored in big games. There’s too much inconsistency to get a truly good read of what level they can achieve.

9.DANZ FC

A leaky defense is hindering them in both ACL and VCL. 14 goals conceded is joint-worst in the division, although 9 goals is helping their cause here. Their season’s fortunes could change with one good week.

10.Nosubogordas

Giving the edge slightly to Nosubogordas strictly off less goals conceded than The Originals. For both teams, 4 goals scored in 6 games is nowhere near enough to be competitive.

11.The Originals

See above for Nosubogordas but with one additional point and one additional goal conceded.

12.Deportivo Lara

Last in the table and things are not looking up. 3rd fewest goals scored and most conceded in the division. This season could get away from them before they know it.
