Matches of the Day – Matches 11 & 12

It’s Thursday, 2 games before a well-deserved weekend off from some EA FC ACL action. Without further ado, looks look at the matches of the day.

D1 East:

9:30pm – Ackerman vs Viva Futbol

2 vs 3 in a match between two heavyweights in D1. Even though both teams are stout defensively, I expect this to be a goalfest. Winner takes firm control of second place in the table.

Prediction: Viva Futbol wins 4-3

 

10:00pm – Malditos Genios vs CSD Agua Viva

Another matchup between two playoff teams. Malditos Genios are riding a hot streak, climbing up all the way to 6th, while CSD Agua Viva have been consistently good all season. Another game where a lot of goals will be scored.

Prediction: 4-4 Draw

 

D1 West

9:30pm – Eternal Legion e-Sports vs. Uncs FC

Eternal Legion e-Sports has everything to gain from this match, and the Uncs have just as much to play for. For Eternal Legion, a win likely puts them into the top 8, while the Uncs have a chance to go top of the table with a win and a result from the Magic X vs. Cracks Nation match going their way.

Prediction: Uncs FC wins 3-1

 

10:00pm – Magic X vs. Cracks Nation

The two best teams in West going at it for sole control of first place. Magic X have been on an insane hot streak recently with Cracks matching stride for stride. This is an absolute toss up and could be an early preview for this season’s West final.

Prediction: Magic X wins 2-1

 

D2A East

9:30pm – Toquecitos vs Mallorca FC

Toquecitos have been on a good run of form lately, finding themselves back in a playoff spot against Mallorca who sit a spot ahead of them on the table. Mallorca’s offense should cause some real problems against the Toquecitos defense.

Prediction: Toquecitos wins 4-2

 

10:00pm – NB Rovers vs Olympique

A real test for both teams tonight. While NB Rovers don’t have a lot to lose as a result of being 8 points clear, they will want to show they can continue to beat playoff-level competition. For Olympique, an upset win will put them back on the map as a legitimate playoff contender.

Prediction: 1-1 Draw

 

D2B East

9:30pm – Notorious XI vs Lacritas

Notorious have been on fire as of late, going from near bottom all the way up to 4th in the table only 6 points off first while Lacritas are looking to get on track and find a way back into the top 8. Lacritas desperately need to find consistency if they want any shot of making playoffs.

Prediction: Notorious wins 2-1

 

10:00pm – Viltrume vs Cooked

Viltrume have been on the good side of some results recently, while Cooked sit top of the table with an incredible 34 goals scored. A good attack vs a good defense always makes for a good matchup. Can Viltrume keep their run of good luck up and pull off an upset?

Prediction: Cooked wins 3-0

 

D3 East

9:30pm – Section 80 vs Ol Razzle Dazzle

Both teams need a big result here. For Ol Razzle Dazzle, a win puts them even on points with La salsa fc for 8th, while Section 80 gets step closer to clinching a playoff spot and staying around a top 4 seed.

Prediction: Ol Razzle Dazzle wins 2-1

 

10:00pm – Inazuma Eagles vs La salsa fc

Two teams who are scraping by on points with plenty to play for in this one. Both teams will want to stay clear of Ol Razzle Dazzle and East Clan who still remain in contention to secure a playoff spot. Inazuma Eagles’ defense should be able to keep things close as they’ve conceded the joint-fewest in D3 so far.
