D2A East Power Rankings – V2
D2A East
2 points separate spots 6 through 11 after two weeks. The most grueling division in ACL is showing why it is that way. With 22 games left, will the table start to take form, or will there be even more madness going forward?
1.NB Rovers
An undisputed number one. Even with a game in hand, the Rovers are undefeated with the second most goals scored and the fewest goals conceded. They have a matchup against 12th placed Toquecitos, and I’m sure they will look to continue to pad their stats there.
2.Marabinos FC
Great week from Marabinos, finding themselves in 2nd place. Their attack hit a new stride last week with a league-best 19 goals. While they are conceding goals at a frightening pace, their attack is keeping pace so far and winning games.
3.Nosubogordas
A nice rebound from Nosubogordas, finding themselves in 4th place while only conceding 5 goals. While their attack is still lagging behind, their defense is closing games out. 3 draws are cause for concern, though.
4.Olympique
Their attack and defense cooled off last week, but Olympique still find themselves in 3rd only a point off second. They need to rebound and find a way to keep pace with the leaders this week.
5.All Star GT
One of the first teams to start separating themselves from the mid-table pack, All Star GT are finding a way to decisively win games. While they need to score more goals, if they can continue to grind games out, they may be a team to fear come playoff time.
6.GG United
Faith in GG United paid off last week as they find themselves in 7th place, up from near-bottom in the table. It’ll remain to be seen how much the first few games will come back to haunt them this season.
7.Hated Eleven
Hated Eleven have done just enough so far to differentiate themselves from the rest of the pecking order in the table. They will need to continue to find ways to improve defensively.
8.London Cowboys
Another team who repaid faith from last week’s rankings. They find themselves in 9th place, one point off top 8 and I continue to expect them to move up the table. They do need to find a way to draw less going forward.
9.Deportivo Lara
If this team was ever consistent, they’d be a top 3-4 team. However, for some reason it’s impossible for them to do so. Back down to 8th in the table from a strong start and they need to continue to find form and beat better competition going forward.
10.Mallorca FC
Another team on 11 points, Mallorca have a strong attack and a leaky defense. Similar to their counterparts London Cowboys and Nemesis, they need to find a way to avoid draws and get all 3 points during their matches.
11.Nemesis XI
The final team on 11 points, albeit with the worst goal differential. Their attack is faltering and averaging less than a goal per game. Expect them to put it all together this week.
12.Toquecitos FC
With a game in hand, Toquecitos have an opportunity to go to 11 points creating even more of a jam in the mid-table. Similar to Nemesis, they really need their attack to come alive to make any sort of threat.
13.Panama FC
Great week from Panama FC, grabbing 5 points and getting out of the basement of D2A. Hopefully they can continue this momentum and make a playoff push with plenty of time left in the season.
14.Premier XI
Needs to be better on both sides of the ball. 4 goals in 8 games isn’t going to cut it.
15.Sips FC
The biggest loser from last week’s rankings. Sips did not repay the faith placed in them and sit 3rd from bottom in the division. They need to turn it around if they want any chance to make the playoffs.
16.NY Bulls
Going from bad to worse for the Bulls. After relegating last season, NY Bulls find themselves bottom of D2A. While the attack is showing up, they are conceding way too many goals to have a realistic chance of doing anything this season.
