D2A East Power Rankings – V2

D2A East

1. NB Rovers FC

Giving NB Rovers the top spot due to their game in hand over DANZ FC. NB Rovers have had an exceptional season so far, only conceding 13 goals across 25 games and scoring 61. They took last season’s run and have gone a step further, can they go all the way this season?

2. DANZ FC

Top of the table with an extra game played, DANZ have a ridiculous +50 Goal Differential and are squarely back in the thick of things in ACL after time off. I can’t imagine a scenario in which this team isn’t in D1 next season.

3. Tiburoneta FC (East)

Just like in West, Tiburoneta sit near the top of the standings and have scored a lot of goals in the process. I think playing both divisions has been a huge positive for them, and they are excelling as a result.

4. Olympique

Olympique are always strong contenders in D2, led by a strong attack and an equally strong defense. It’s hard to believe a team with a +32 goal difference sits as low as 4th, but that’s the result of playing in an extremely talented D2A sub-division. Can they get over the hump in playoffs this season?

5. Black Label FC

A solid season for Black Label, putting up 53 goals already with a game in hand against most of their peers in the table. 28 goals is the most conceded in the top 8, but definitely not a reason for concern at all given their Goal Scoring success.

6. Punisherz

A really nice rebound season from Punisherz. After finishing mid-table last season, Punisherz finds themselves in 6th with a +15 goal differential, 10 points clear of 9th place. They could stand to score a little more to keep pace with the other teams in D2A, but anything can happen come playoff time.

7. GG United

GG United is likely better than their record and stats say, but are stuck in a difficult D2A and have been burned for no stats a few times. Look for this team to make a run to close out the season and make a deep playoff run.

8. Deportivo Lara

Deportivo Lara is another team burned by forfeiting games due to stat violations. On their day, this is a top 3 team in D2. On the other hand, when they do not show up to play, it could get ugly. Will they hold on to a top 8 spot?

9. East Clan

This team is somehow only 4 points off the playoffs, even with 50 goals conceded. Their offense is playing well, scoring 40 goals but the defense appears to be extremely weak. If they can get their defense playing at the same level as their attack, there is definitely a chance for East Clan to sneak into the playoffs.

10. Unc FC

Unc FC are 11th in the table in a logjam from 10th to 14th place all being split by 6 points, but have conceded the second fewest goals of that group. Their attack has been underwhelming, but it’s entirely plausible to think they could turn it around and make the playoffs.

11. JA Raptors FC

JA Raptors find themselves in 10th on 34 points, even with 56 goals conceded. They have been able to find results this season, and have propelled them out of the D2 basement. While it remains to be seen if they can continue to get lucky with results, 11th place is a huge improvement from previous seasons.

12. Invincible XI

Invincible have a -20 goal difference and have scored only 25 goals. This puts them squarely in midtable, and would need a serious change to have any shot at playoffs.

13. Bahia Esports

For every team like JA Raptors with lucky results, there are usually teams that get unlucky with results. Bahia Esports is this case. A -1 Goal Differential is the best of the bottom 10 teams, but sit in 14th place due to being unlucky with results. While this season may not be theirs, hopefully next season sees a little more luck with results going in their favor.

14. Too Much Sauce

72 goals conceded is the most across any division as it stands, but Too Much Sauce have been able to manage 10 wins. Clearly a strategy change is needed across the board for this team.

15. Prosper

Prosper have had a rough go of it, and have been generally unlucky like Bahia Esports to not get more results. A -11 Goal Difference after 24 games should lead to more than 22 points, but sometimes luck beats all in ACL.

16. Highlanders FC

Possibly Folded.
