D2A East Power Rankings – Playoff Push
1. New Era FC
New Era FC have charged into 1st place recently behind great defensive play and the third best attack in the league. While there are only 2 points separating 1st and 3rd, New Era is only 1 point out for clinching a playoff spot currently.
2. Olympique
While Olympique has fallen from 1st to 3rd in the table, they still have the best overall attack and should return to form, and likely the top of the table, soon.
3. OG Sports
While their attack has scored the fewest of the entire top 8, OG Sports has conceded the fewest all season. Defense wins championships and OG Sports definitely have a championship-quality defense.
4. Lacritas
Another strong defensive team, Lacritas have only conceded 13 goals and scored 41 goals. Their +28 goal difference ranks 2nd in the entire division, but need to find a way to close out more games in order to make a push for the top seed.
5. No Name XI
No Name XI have quietly found their form and see themselves 10 points clear of 9th place. If they keep this momentum up, they may be able to surprise a few teams in playoffs.
6. NB Rovers
A team that both scores and concedes quite a lot. Their 26 goals conceded is the most in the top 8, but 36 goals scored is good for 4th. 10 points clear with 6 games left is a good sign that this team will make playoffs and succeed there.
7. S.I.N.
An “On” week for S.I.N. sees their goal difference rise to 11 and kept their season tally to only 24 goals conceded. Their big issue has been consistency, but if they can stay hot, this team may be a dark horse to gain D1 promotion.
8. Chronic Crew
Chronic Crew slipped a little, but still remain 7 points clear of the playoffs with 6 games left. Their +4 Goal Difference is worst in the division, but they won’t be complaining to make it into the playoffs.
9. Union Dulzura
8 draws this season will haunt them. Even though they have been lacking the cutting edge to gain wins this season, a few results going their way may propel them into a playoff spot at the end of the season.
10. Punisherz
Definitely an off season for Punisherz, who surely had playoff aspirations this season. While this may not be their season, expect them to come back stronger next season and make a playoff push.
11. Saoco FC
Similar to Punisherz, Saoco is on the outside looking in, with a -7 goal difference. Another team I would expect to re-up and go again next season.
12. JA Raptors
Eliminated from playoffs, JA Raptors have not had a strong season, and will be disappointed after a stronger than expected start to the year.
13. Centurions FC
After being near the playoff race last season, Centurions regressed massively and sit at 9 points after 20 games. They are also eliminated from playoffs.
14. Samurai Pandas
I give credit to Samurai Pandas for battling this season and playing through. While eliminated from playoffs, I expect better from them next season.
