D2A East Power Ranking – Week 2

1. Olympique

This has been the best start for Olympique in any of their few seasons in D2. 30 goals across 8 games to only 3 conceded is incredible. They are the only team in the entirety of ACL that has not dropped any points through 2 weeks. Can this team keep it up and get promotion into D1 this season? The goal should be title or bust.

2. Lacritas

Another D1 hopefully, Lacritas has rebounded incredibly well from last season’s performances and sit in 2nd with only one loss on 21 points. This team is also scoring a significant amount of goals and have only conceded 4, 2nd best in the division. This team should be looking at this season as promotion/title or bust also.

3. New Era FC

The former D3 Champions, New Era should be fully familiarized with D2 and sit in third place in the competitive 2A division. Only conceding 5 goals and scoring 17 show how good this team can be in all facets of the pitch.

4. S.I.N

One of only a few teams to get 12/12 points last week, S.I.N have flown up the table going from near the Bottom of D2A to 5th place. Their defensive issues seem to have been figured out, with their attack producing impressive results all season. How hot can this team stay going forward?

5. OG Sports

This team took a slight step back last week, only getting 6/12 points, but still sit squarely in 4th place in the table. Their defense is shutting teams down, but their 10 goals is the worst among all playoff teams. Expect this team to get back to winning ways this week.

6. NB Rovers

Another team that did not perform well last week, NB rovers only pulled 3/12 points this week. This team has plenty of experience and talent to turn it around, they just need to get it together before they find themselves free-falling out of a playoff seed.

7. No Name XI

A tenured team in ACL, No Name XI also got 3/12 points last week after a 9/12 performance the week prior. This team holds an impressive +6 goal difference, and a win over fellow playoff team Chronic Crew should give them confidence going forward.

8. Chronic Crew

This team on paper is significantly better than the results would show. With that being said, this is still a playoff level team and is squarely in the playoff race, only one point off 6 place. They are the only team in the top 8 with a negative goal differential, and shows how wide the talent gap might be in D2A this season.

9. Punisherz

Punisherz have been around for a long time and are also more talented than their place on the table would suggest. 15 goals conceded is very unlike them, and I would expect that to change throughout the season.

10. Saoco

A win over No Name XI is a huge result as this team tried to get back on track to winning ways. Only 4 points off playoffs currently, Saoco needs more scoring output to continue to get more results and break the league-leading 2 draws they have.

11. Union Dulzura

This team desperately needs attacking help. A goal every two games on average is not a winning formula no matter how good your defense may be. Look for management to continue to make changes and find a winning formula to succeed in this division.

12. Ja Raptors

Ja Raptors have been playing ACL for a long time and haven’t had a good go of it recently. A -13 goal differential after 8 games isn’t great and changes need to be made across the pitch for this team to have a chance of avoiding a relegation battle this season.

13. Centurions FC

One of the bigger disappointments this season, Centurions held a playoff spot for a portion of last season, before ending the season in a disappointing way. So far, they have only 1 point to their name and need to turn it around quick before the season is too far gone.

14. Samurai Pandas

Samurai Pandas are also on 1 point with only 2 goals scored and 27 conceded. A draw with Ja Raptors is their only result on the season, and a massive overhaul is needed to escape the basement of D2.
