D2 East Playoff Predictions

The hardest playoffs of them all. 34 brutal regular season games, only to play the hardest playoff with 16 teams involved. Only 4 series stand in the way of the ultimate goal: promotion to Division 1 East. With it comes notoriety and a huge boost in recruiting ability heading into a new game cycle. Who will punch their tickets to the promised land of ACL? Will this season be like last where every first round game was an upset?

NB Rovers FC (1A) vs. Dochas FC (8B)

NB Rovers will want to improve on last season’s performance in the playoff and play the newly-promoted Dochas FC. Both teams have great attacks, and the team with better defensive play will win here. Expect plenty of goals to be scored.

Prediction: NB Rovers wins 5-2

 

Olympique (2A) vs. Trojan XIX (7B)

Olympique will come in with plenty to prove after coming close to making D1 the past few seasons while Trojan XIX will look to upset a top seed and make a playoff run. Can they be this season’s No Name XI or Collective?

Prediction: Olympique wins 4-1

 

DANZ FC (3A) vs. Composed XI (6B)

Last season’s D3 champs Composed XI play DANZ, who can agonizingly close to D1 last season after losing the 3rd place game. Expect DANZ to come locked and loaded this playoffs.

Prediction: DANZ wins 4-2

 

Tiburoneta (East) (4A) vs. San Sharti (East) (5B)

Two teams who should be familiar with one another due to West. Tiburoneta’s high-powered attack will face San Sharti and their outstanding defense. This game will be one of the most interesting to watch.

Prediction: San Sharti wins 3-2 in 3 games

 

Malditos Genios (1B) vs. Deportivo Lara (8A)

Malditos Genios bring the best attack in Division 2 against the experienced Deportivo Lara. While this hasn’t been their strongest season, Deportivo Lara are not an easy first round opponent by any stretch.

Prediction: Malditos Genios wins 5-3

 

New Era FC (2B) vs. Punisherz (7A)

New Era will look to go from D3 to D1 in one game cycle while Punisherz will look to make a deep playoff run and find their way into D2. Both of these teams have a lot to play for and a win like this could inspire a huge amount of confidence.

Prediction: Punisherz wins 3-2

 

Pro Union (3B) vs. GG United (6A)

Pro Union bring one of the strongest attacks in D2B, while GG United brings plenty of experience to the fold. These teams could have an easier road to the finals should they win this matchup.

Prediction: GG United wins 3-1

 

Cougars (4B) vs. Black Label FC (5A)

Cougars SC had a nice ending to the season and find themselves in the top 4 of their division, while Black Label put up 69 points in the brutal D2A division. They would feel hard done to finish 5th and will look to show how strong they truly are.

Prediction: Black Label FC wins 4-2
