D1 East Power Rankings – Week 2
1. NoHardFeelings
Sitting at the top of the table with a ridiculous +23 Goal Differential and only 3 goals allowed, NoHardFeelings has had a nearly perfect start to the season. A draw against 12th place Playboyzz isn’t the best result, but several huge results over playoff and mid-table teams, including a 3-0 win over Virtual Talent, shows this team is a legitimate title contender this season.
2. Patience
Sitting 2nd on the table due to Goal Difference, Patience has only dropped 1 game all season, a 1-1 result against Virtual Talent. Patience also boast an exceptional +13 Goal Difference after 8 games, conceding only 6 goals in the hardest division of ACL, best for 4th in the league currently. Expect this team to continue to sit near the top of D1 East.
3. Virtual Talent
Last season’s overall D1 Champions have no form of Champion’s Hangover, and are playing to the tune of 19 points with a +10 goal differential, best for 3rd in the league. Their only loss is to 1st place NoHardFeelings, and manager EvanDavids should be content with how his team has performed so far.
4. Most Hated
After a season off, Most Hated has picked up where they left off, sitting right in the race for a top seed in East. While conceding 7 in 8 games is a surprise for this usually stout defensive team, Most Hated should continue to dominate defensively all season to come.
5. Vikings
Probably the biggest positive surprise in all of D1, Vikings is sitting in 5th place after 8 games on 16 points. While this team will need to bolster its scoring output, the work that this team has done so far this season has been inspiring to say the least.
6. Fatal XI
Fatal, like always, has had an underwhelming start to the season. However, in true Fatal fashion, they are turning it around and are 4 points clear of 9th place currently. 15 goals scored is good for the 3rd most goals scored, while allowing 7 goals. This team will need continued good player from their attackers to continue to succeed and climb the table.
7. Galacticos
Sitting at 6th in the table on 15 points, Galactics has been another pleasant surprise. The ProjectBH and El Maryasa cores are blending better than expected and are getting good results to start the season. Can this team keep this form up?
8. Los Plebes
Sitting in 8th place in the standings, and 8th on this list is Los Plebes. This is about where they were expected to sit. On one hand, if any of their 4 Losses would have been a win, they’d be higher up the leaderboards. On the other hand, any bad bounce and this team could have 4 points less and be sitting considerably further down in the rankings. More decisive results are needed to keep hold of this playoff spot.
9. Azteca Esports
The highest ranked of the promoted teams, Azteca is sitting in 9th place, even with a -5 goal difference. 11 goals conceded is not a recipe for success, and this team desperately needs to score more goals. Can their defense hold up against some of the higher firepower teams in this division?
10. Beangers
Last season’s 9 seed are sitting at just 7 points after 8 games. However, a -3 goal difference on 5 losses means they are keeping games close and grinding games out. A week of good fortune, or teams higher in the table losing, could put Beangers right back in a playoff spot.
11. LA United
East’s version of Talacheros from West. 5 goals conceded is 2nd best in D1 East, but 4 goals is in a 3-way tie for dead last. This team is significantly better than they are performing currently. They just need someone to find the back of the net more than once every other game.
12. PlayBoyzz
After taking some time off, Playboyzz finds themselves in 12th with one win out of 8. With only 8 goals conceded, this team should be finding more ways to win. However, similar to LA United, this team simply isn’t scoring enough to climb the table. They will also need a way to find the ball in the back of the net offensively.
13. Marvel XI
Another newly-promoted team, Marvel has 2 wins out of 8 and no draws. 19 goals allowed is alarming given how well they performed defensively in D2 East last season. Some teams have not adapted well to the new restrictions, and Marvel seems to be a prime example of this.
14. Zulia Esports
Zulia sits on just 3 points through 8 games. Their defense have only allowed 12 goals all season, but have only scored 4 goals. The attack needs to find a way through this rough patch before they find themselves out of the race for playoffs, and squarely in a relegation battle.
15. Illuminate CF
Sitting in 14th place, Illuminate have scored 8 goals, better than a handful of teams above them. However, a leaky defense that have conceded 20 goals so far is a major cause for concern. Sheik will be looking for a way to shore up the defense after a poor start to this season.
16. Lethal XI
A nightmare start for Lethal XI. The most goals conceded, 5 goals scored and only 3 points puts Lethal in last place. After narrowly avoiding relegation last season, can this team find another way out this season?
