From sixteen teams down to two, former D1 teams No Name XI and Collective FC will square off in a hotly contested final to claim both the D2 Title and the Cash Prize associated with winning the division. We’ve seen both of these teams make cinderella runs on their way to guaranteed Division 1 promotion, with 8 seeded Collective FC running through everyone in their way with 6 seeded No Name XI posting impressive wins over Cougars and Buona Notte on their run to the final. For the third place game, DANZ FC and Buona Notte will play 2 matches also to get into the promotion/relegation game for a shot at D1 next season.

A quick rundown of the Championship teams:

Collective FC: After being the lowest overall seed on either side of D2 with 40 points, Collective kicked it up into a different gear, destroying top seeded OG Sports by a score of 7-1. They then followed it up with back to back impressive wins against GG United and DANZ FC, winning 4-2 and 2-0 respectively.

No Name XI: After a weaker finish to the season, No Name XI came into the playoffs as a 6 seed. However, similar to Collective FC, they turned it on in the playoffs. They first beat Deportivo Lara 2-1, then Cougars SC 2-1, and then beat favorites Buona Notte 5-1 on aggregate.

Championship: 8B Collective FC vs 6A No Name XI

Both teams have had an incredible run that will propel them into Division 1 next season. Each team has allowed 3 goals across 3 series, 6 games each which is simply incredible. Both teams have shown true goalscoring capability, with both teams hanging twelve goals combined in their matchups against the top seeds. Collective’s attack has been a little more consistent this season, and that may give them the edge for the title.

3rd Place: 1B Buona Notte vs 6B DANZ FC

Both teams with D1 aspirations came crashing down in the semi-final, with Buona Notte losing 5-1 and DANZ FC getting shut out 2-0. Both teams have had incredible seasons to be proud of, but it remains to be seen who will move forward and have a shot of making D1 next season. Look for Buona Notte to get their revenge this series.
