D1 West Power Rankings – Week 2

1. Famous XI

12/12 points this week and the best goal differential in West. Famous got over their 1-0 loss to Cracks and have dominated along the way. With most of the harder schedule out of the way, Famous could start to run away with the top seed this season.

2. Magic X

An impressive run of form last week leads Magic X to 2nd in the Power Rankings and 3rd in the Standings. Impressive wins over Ignite XI and Vicious will hopefully inspire them against playoff teams Famous XI and Ackerman on Tuesday.

3. Cracks Nation

A devastating loss to Remywise FC bumps Cracks out of the top seed after 8 games, but Cracks is still on great pace to keep a top seed this season. A +16 goal difference and second most goals scored is still comforting and should keep Cracks in striking distance of Famous.

4. Royal X

Not the strongest start to the season for last season’s top seed, in which they dropped points to both Talacheros and 06 Society. 12 goals conceded in 8 games is very unlike this team, and a defensive correction will be needed to keep pace with the front runners this season.

5. Talacheros

Sitting in 6th with only 5 goals allowed through 8 games, Talacheros is off to a better-than-expected start this season. Being the only team in the top 8 to not crack 10 goals yet is worrying, but as long as the defense continues to excel, the results will keep coming in.

6. Ackerman FC

Another team with a low goal output but a great defensive effort, Ackerman hasn’t started as strong as expected this season. It is fully expected for this team to find their stride around the middle of the season and continue to climb up the charts going forward.

7. Ignite XI

Ignite had a brutal week of matches last week and fell down to 8th in the table. This team should still pick it up and will need to rely on their experience to carry them through tough times this season. There’s still 20 matches left, and no need to hit the panic button after one bad week.

8. 06 Society FC

Another group of veterans coming back this season, 06 Society has consistently remained in the lower seeds and very much in the playoff race. Tied with Royal X for the worst Goal Differential amongst the playoff teams shows a need for improvement on both sides of the ball.

9. Vicious XI

If this power ranking were strictly based on attack, Vicious would rank somewhere in the top 6. If it were strictly based on defense, this would be a bottom 4 team. Vicious has now fallen out of the playoffs 8 games in due to conceding 13 goals. An improvement is needed in short order for their defense to get back to winning ways.

10. Remywise FC

A shock win over Cracks Nation is exactly what this team needed to show they can compete this season. Only 2 points off the playoffs with plenty of games to spare, expect this team to continue to get better and better over the course of the season.

11. Aztec Esport

Wet and his players have the 3rd worst defensive record in the entire division, but have scored 13 goals, good for 7th in the west. Similar to Vicious, a defensive improvement would allow this team to start getting results and getting back into the playoff race.

12. Classic XI

4 points in 8 games is not the best start to have. Only 4 goals in that stretch is even more alarming, as it is the worst goal output in all of west. This attack needs to step it up and give their defense some help, and quick.

13. Exile

So far the biggest disappointment in West. 27 goals allowed, including 10 to Cracks Nation is a recipe for failure, especially considering the attack has mustered only 6 goals in 8 games. Kash and his team will need a miracle, or some good signings, to get back in the playoff race.

14. Real 1s FC

8 games, 0 points and a -29 Goal Differential is a bad way to start a season. However, a 2-1 close loss against Magic X should give them confidence going forward as this group of players continues to learn playing competitive Pro Clubs.
