D3 Playoff Predictions: Finals

From 12 teams with championship aspirations down to the final two, this D3 season has been a sprint. From dominant teams like La Mastilla to cinderella stories like Rojiblancos, this season has given us a little bit of everything. This final is shaping up to be one of the more exciting ones in recent memory, and with a sizable prize to win, each team will bring everything they have to become D3 Season 46 Champions. Let’s take one final look at our 8 playoff teams and where they fare currently:

Finals: La Mastilla (1) vs. Rojiblancos fc (6)

After the first round, La Mastilla looked like they were going to obliterate everyone on their way to the title. However, they hit a roadblock against a defensively sound Inazuma Eagles, narrowly winning 2-1 in the round. This was one of the first times this season their attack was not able to just blow past their opposition. However, their defense did well to limit Inazuma’s attack and allowed only one goal.

Rojiblancos on the other hand came into the playoffs as an underdog with a leaky defense, but a strong attack. After two rounds, they have barely squeezed by winning each round by only one goal. They have heavily relied on their attack to carry them along, which has proven effective so far.

The biggest issue that remains to be seen is if Rojiblancos’ defense can slow down La Mastilla’s attack to cause an upset. If they can’t, this final will likely be over by the end of the first leg. If they can, they would have a big advantage going into the game on their host.
