D3 Playoff Predictions – Semifinals
D3 Playoff Predictions: Round 2
Current Prediction Record: 2-2
After the first round of playoffs, four teams have come one step closer to lifting the Division 3 title and taking home the cash prize and automatic promotion into Division 2. The first round saw a little bit of everything; high-scoring games, low-scoring slugfests, upsets and absolute beatdowns. However, you’re only as good as your last game, and anything can happen at any given point. A quick look at how how the playoff teams fared so far:
1) La Mastilla – 8-2 aggregate win over Section 80
2) America Titans – Eliminated
3) United Kings – Eliminated
4) Inazuma Eagles – 2-1 aggregate win in 3 games over La salsa fc
5) La salsa fc – Eliminated
6) Rojiblancos FC – 6-5 aggregate win over United Kings
7) Tecolote fc – 4-1 aggregate win over America Titans
8) Section 80 – Eliminated
Game 1: La Mastilla (1) vs. Inazuma Eagles (4)
Arguably the best attack facing off against the best defense in the division. While La Mastilla cruised to a Round 1 victory, Inazuma Eagles went all the way to three games narrowly beating out La salsa fc. Inazuma’s biggest strength is in their defense, and they will need to continue to rely on that in order to pull off a massive upset over La Mastilla. At the moment, their attack is firing on all cylinders and don’t look like slowing down any time soon.
Prediction: La Mastilla wins 4-2
Game 2: Rojiblancos (6) vs. Tecolote fc (7)
On the other side of the bracket are the spoilers of the group. Both of these lower seeds pulled off impressive victories over their higher-seeded counterparts and scored plenty in the process. Tecolote went and played an impressive America Titans team and put 4 past them, while Rojiblancos won in a high-scoring shootout against United Kings. One point of concern for Rojiblancos this round has to be their defense, conceding plenty of goals in the regular season and conceding 5 across 2 games in the playoffs already. Can Tecolote take advantage of Rojiblancos defensive struggles and punch their ticket to the final?
Prediction: Tecolote wins 5-3
