Matches of the Day, Matches 9 and 10

 

As we near the halfway point of the season, several strong contenders have risen through the ranks towards the top of the table. Can these teams keep this momentum up, or will they falter as the season wears on?

 

D1 East:

9:30pm – CSD Agua Viva vs. NoHardFeelings

A lot at stake for both teams. CSD Agua Viva could stand to have a quality win against a playoff opponent while NoHardFeelings need to get back on track and avoid their continued slide down the table. This could be an early playoff matchup by the end of it.

Prediction: NoHardFeelings wins 3-1

 

10:00pm – Viva Futbol vs. Buona Notte

Viva are one of the most in-form teams playing against a Buona Notte side still clinging on to a playoff spot. Viva’s attack against Buona Notte’s defense could be problematic. Expect a lot of goals to be scored by at least one side.

Prediction: Viva wins 4-1

 

D1 West:

9:30pm – Impact X vs Magic X

Impact will be looking to get on the right track after forfeiting games due to the time difference, while Magic X will be looking to show that they belong in the upper tier of West teams. This should be a hard-fought battle with both teams having plenty to play for.

Prediction: 2-2 Draw

 

10:00pm – Warriors FC vs Bazukazos

3 vs 4 in the table with the winner likely taking the spot. Bazukazos have kept games close all season while Warriors attack has been outstanding. Two good attacks agains two stout defenses.

Prediction: Warriors FC wins 2-1

 

D2A East:

9:30pm – Marabinos vs NB Rovers

1 vs 2 in the table. NB Rovers have everything to play for, especially keeping a perfect record in the season, while Marabinos will want to show how good they truly are. Marabinos defense is slightly concerning so far this season and will be a point for Rovers to exploit.

Prediction: NB Rovers wins 3-1

 

10:00pm – London Cowboys vs Nemesis

Two teams looking to push further up the table, with a result doing wonders for them. London Cowboys will need to score goals against a leaky Nemesis defense, while Nemesis has an opportunity to get their attack on track against a solid London Cowboys defense. This could be a real springboard for the rest of the season going forward.

Prediction: London Cowboys wins 1-0

 

D2B East:

9:30pm – ColdGame FC vs Cooked

Another 1 v 2 matchup. No one has really looked like they will slow Cooked down, but the outstanding ColdGame defense may be able to do a job. For Cooked, a win would create even more of a gap between 1st and everyone else, while a ColdGame win will see them go joint-top with a head to head tiebreaker.

Prediction: 2-2 draw

 

10:00pm – New Era FC vs. Lashups XI

Two teams that desperately need points to stay in a playoff seed, both teams will absolutely go for it today. Expect a low scoring game that goes right to the wire.

Prediction: 1-1 draw

 

D3 East:

9:30pm – La Mastilla vs America Titans

Yet another 1 v 2 matchup. America Titans are on a huge hot streak while La Mastilla haven’t been beaten all season. Two great attacks and two great defenses make this a must watch.

Prediction: America Titans wins 3-2

 

10:00pm – La salsa fc vs Section 80

A win for either team would give them a huge boost to their playoff hopes and a chance to correct their negative goal differentials. Both teams are on 13 points and will want to distance themselves from East Clan on 7 points. This could also be a potential playoff matchup if everything falls the right way.

Prediction: Section 80 wins 4-3
